It's great to see this idea catching on. I recently read  somewhere that 
someone else is working on developing a statement of  principles or whatever too - 
was it Howard Dean? It's essential that  the Dems get together as this 
article says, figure out what they are  supposed to stand for, and make a real 
pledge to work on those things.
 
But I'm not totally satisfied with this list either. It's too general and  
leaves way too much wiggle room for anyone who wants to evade their  commitment. 
Also it's another "trust me" statement with no real  teeth. If the Dems don't 
figure out what they are about pretty  soon and improve their present abysmal 
performance, everyone is going  to write them off as totally irrelevant and 
we will continue down the road to  fascism.
