Even if you can't attend, I'd appreciate your suggestions for MUST INCLUDE
concerns...

The Women's Health Movement "Herstory and Herstrionics"  will be discussed
at the First Unitarian Universalist Church WOMEN'S GROUP on Sunday, April
23th.
Bring your stories of success, favorite books & memorabilia, what
enraged/enrages us, experiences from ridiculous to horrendous...What are the
present conditions? Who controls women's bodies?  Where do we go from here?
Universal Health Care?  How? Sometimes these women's health discussions are
called "ovulating discussions".

Discussion will be led by Cathy Courtney, BSEd, MPH. Courtney is Founder &
former Director of the Detroit Feminist Women's Health Center; trained with
pioneers in the women's health movement, Our Bodies Our Selves, Gynecology
Self Helper, National Women's Health Network & others and sustains activism
in women's health politics, medical education & service.

A timeline of events since the 1970s will be distributed to decrease going
over old facts and instead focus more on participant's experiences, women's
strengths and practical strategies for the future! You may even bring your
speculum to show & tell:)

 The Women's Group is one of the longest active weekly women's discussion &
support groups in the US. The feminist group for all women (each woman
defines her own feminism) meets every Sunday at
10:35 a.m. in  the Sojourner Truth Room, 3rd floor  of the First Unitarian
Universalist Church, 5200 Fannin at Southmore (elevator accessible).
