Despite efforts by Stan and others on the Harris Co. Dem. party elections committee (which I'm also on), little has happened at the top.  A majority of City Council has said they'd support some sort of verifiable voting requirements in elections, and LAST SUMMER we were told that the mayor directed the city legal dept. to write up a draft ordinance on this.  But nothing happened, the major seemed to lose interest, and the Co. Clerk (Bev Kaufman) has consistently said there is no problem with our election system.
