Thanks to a great group of volunteer sign artists, the First
Amendment is alive and well! (Or at least, it's alive and kicking.)
We got a bunch of signs painted this weekend. They say such things
as "Spying, Lying Torture Impeach", "Impeach the Liar-in-Chief",
"Spied+Lied", "Impeach", "Ya Basta!", etc. And we put some
cardboard, that would otherwise have been disposed of, to good use.
They range in size from 3.5 x 9 ft, down to about 2 x 3 ft. These
are signs that will be NOTICED!
We need volunteers to carry them at Tuesday evening's protest for the
Mis-Statements of the Union (see http://www.paa-tx.org/node/1327 )
and to place them later in good spots where the public can see them
-- see http://www.freewayblogger.com/ for lots of great examples of
where to put them.
I don't want to give the signs to just anyone who shows up at the
protest. I want to make sure they are re-used and don't just end up
in someone's garage or thrown away.
If you can help carry a sign Tue. night, and/or place one or more of
them later (anytime in the next week or so is fine), let me know.
We already have 2 volunteers who plan to carry (but not attach) one
of the large signs on the sidewalk of one of the bridges over US 59
during rush hour. This is a great way for thousands of people to see
the message.
Of course, the signs can be moved to different locations, too, so
more people will see them and to enhance their longevity.
Please reply to me (keep same subject as this message) if you want
one or more signs and will make sure they get put where people will
notice, and I'll bring them to you for Tuesday evening's protest. Of
if you want them later and will help put them out, let me know that,
too.
Thanks-
Bill
