[PAA-Discuss] Why the blackout on Stephen Colbert?

Blackout? They gotta be kidding! Those guys obviously don't bother to watch TV - just criticize it
without knowing what they're talking about.

Keith Olberman had a lot of fun with it - but then, KO has always been on the side of snide,
comical journalism. (Tyranny cannot stand in the face of laughter)

The Riech-winger's "Trogolodyte News Service", as usual, had some insulting things to say to about
it ("has he gone too far?"), but they did at least show a few short clips. One 24-7 channel even
reported it as "the most browsed item on the internet".

But to call it a "blackout"? C'mon! If you're going to criticize TV you have to turn it on & watch
it. Frankly, after a while I got tired of it. Stephen himself has finally dropped it, which means
something because his show is largely built on pretending to have an insatiable ego trip (because
it's mostly a satire of O'Rielly's ego trip).

The other indication that ActForChange doesn't know what they're talking about is the line "speak
truth to power" - if they had pulled their heads out of their undisclosed locations they would
have seen and acknowledged that Jon Stewart (The Daily Show) branded it as "Speak TRUTHINESS To
Power".

For those of you who don't watch TV cuz you think it's ALL innately evil - "truthiness" is a term
that Colbert invented that means "a statement that SOUNDS like the truth with no real relation to
facts".
