[PAA-Discuss] Another interesting (historical) development this week

In the huge noise over the upcoming elections yet 
another historic event took place: the elevation
of a woman to lead the Episcopal Church 
in the US. 

A good friend of mine in Dallas is doing a

Mark that she is the FIRST woman head of the Episcopal
Church. Ever. 

The Episcopals were the first to appoint an openly-gay
Bishop. As I understand it, they've been very active
in the Peace movement as well (of course, the Pope
declared himself against the Iraq war a long time
ago).
