Thank you Joseph,

As you and others may know John Dean is a Lawyer and his analysis was provided and backed up by experts in the field of psychology and human behavior.

This work is also supported by the work of Don Beck, Spiral Dynamics, Ken Wilber's Integration theory and others.

Paul

ANother 2 cents to put into this. I'm reading John Dean's book called "Conservatrives Without a Conscience". I was impressed by his analysis, and the distinctions he made regardng what is "Conservatism", and the many faces of this, running the gamut from Far rtight to Centrist.

He made a very strong case for the characteristics of the severl major componenets of Consrervatism, and identified the group now in poweer in the administration as those without conscience, distinct from Conservatives With a Conscience, who are as appalled at the administration as any of us.

I suppose it would be useful to make a clarifying point here. Those Republicans who have actively and aggressively pushed the policies and directives that have led to so many deaths, so many tortured victims, so many lies, so many betrayals of our constitution etc. are responsible for their actions, and are subject to the consequences our society and family values. Imagine that someone in oyur family has committted a murder. Would that not be a disturbing thought? If not, why not? Who are you? What do you stand for or against? Do you have anything that you are committed to achieving, and take a stand for?

To speak to the republicans who have been duped, who are deceived, brainwashed, unaware of the facts of the torture and the illegitimacy of the war; does this group have different responsibilities and consequences?

Sure, lets talk to those ones. Now if you have ever known someone whose conscience is missing, what we might postulate as having its roots in an early attachment disorder, then you would be aware of the fchasm betwween a person with an internal set of beliefs and social limits on behavior, than one who has no such limits, no such internal social beliefs and character that associates with honesty, candor, eempathy, compassion, and denial of violence urgings.

    Jsut something to ponmder.

And if one is committed to this inter political group healing, then put energy into that, and make progress toward this healing for all our sakes. Yes, there are those who are ready to do this, and I say go forth, be bnlessed in your work.
