Thanks for those 2 cents, Ivan. They are appreciated, as always.

Subject: Re: [PAA-Discuss] The Draft

Man, this topic can easily become a knotty one. I really don't see a point
in reinstating the draft. It just doesn't seem effective to me. I simply do
not think it will help end the war. I think the comments expressed by Kris
Graham and Kathleen Kain represent my sentiments. I sure do NOT want to go
to war. I would NEVER sign up for the military. I would HATE to be drafted
to fight in an illegal war. I do not like the idea of reinstating the draft.
I don't think it's an effective idea. It will just make the military larger,
thus enabling them to continue occupying Iraq.

I sure don't think a draft will help bring the troops home faster.

Just my 2 cents,
Ivan Espinosa

The draft will not end the occupation. Draft protests did not end the
Vietnam War, they ended the draft. Feeding more people into the military
machine will extend the occupation and encourage more invasions. Refusing to
follow illegal orders will end the occupation and stop new invasions.
Simple as that.

All these other arguments just sound like some kind of vengeance seeking.
