*HEY THERE! *(oops, that's Kris's font. let me try this one.)

Kris is correct, our GreenWatch plans fell through for this week. One of our
pre-taped backup shows will air instead of the hoped-for live show about
global privatization of water.

BUT we do still intend to do a show on WATER, THE NEXT OIL. Soon. I, for
one, especially appreciate Kris helping to bring this topic to the fore. It
has been on our collective mind for many moons.
See
http://www.hcgp.org/getinvolved/greenwatch/WaterCultureChange_2003-11-25.htm--
we did a show about Texas water with attorney John Bartos (see
September
29, 2004; ask for a DVD or VHS copy; dig into the archives on the website
for contact info).

I hope that y'all will be able to watch the taped show that will air this
evening instead. If you cannot, take heart! We have word that in the next
month or two, Houston's public access TV channel will begin LIVE STREAMING
VIDEO on the internet. We shall at long last break through the boundaries of
the city limits! YAY!!!

Meanwhile, if you want to follow through on learning more about WATER
ISSUES, please check out the latest issue of TEXAS OBSERVER:
http://www.texasobserver.org/ (Furthermore, KPFT 90.1 FM radio on Friday
news at 5 PM usually interviews someone from TX OBS; I wonder if this topic
might come up. Or perhaps on the usual Thursday Environmental segment of the
News at 5.)

As a pure coincidence, when I got home today after having been at City Hall,
I found in my snail mail, a brochure telling me to "PREPARE FOR THE
COMING... GLOBAL WATER CRISIS!" Turns out I have an opportunity for the
investment of a lifetime. American Water Stocks (RSPG: Royal Springs Water).
"A stock that could potentially offer you gains of 220%!" --- needless to
say, they got the wrong guy. This is totally criminal. For starters, they're
talking about raping the Oglalla Aquifer, one of the most endangered in the
United States... You've gotta see this flyer. Incredible. They actually say,
"Water, the next oil" as in inducement to invest in making a profit off the
vital needs of people. (http://www.royalspringswater.com/) An amazing piece
of propaganda tied in to sales and PR and CNBC and they show melting
icebergs and all sorts of CRAP. (I do not recommend that you subscribe to
CNBC. I did not, and have not seen their video.) Just ask me to show you the
slick paper sales brochure I got in the mail. So what's new? Capitalism
really sucks.

When will we learn to live in balance with nature?

Peace, Art

PS: Kris, don't worry about having to make a correction to the announcement
about the show topic. These things happen, especially with live shows. We do
try to plan ahead, and need to do so more; this time we did indeed get a
little bit ahead of ourselves, or behind -- but we truly appreciate your
enthusiasm and eagerness to promote the show. It is not the first time that
we have had to punt. So, Kris, about that self-flagellation, don't feel
obligated. (But don't let me stop you! I do it myself... Want to see my
scars?)

As a matter of fact, about the same time you sent the premature (?) notice,
I posted WATER as the topic for the next show on the HCGP web site, and must
correct that, ASAP. I share your chagrin. And your vim! love -a

Art Browning** informed me last night that the GreenWatch show for tomorrow,
Wednesday, April 11, will NOT be on the subject of Water. He said some of
the guests didn't have the time to adequately prepare their information and
talking points for the show, so the Water Show will be postponed to a later
date. I believe Art mentioned that tomorrow's show would possibly be on the
Green Party. *

*I apologize for any confusion. I'll flagellate myself properly later today.
Please watch GreenWatch anyhow. Tune in tomorrow night at 9:00 p.m. on Cable
Channel 17 if you live within Houston city limits. You're BOUND to learn
something!!*

*Side Note: Art, if I screwed this one up then please set me straight, but I
think the above information is what you shared with me last night. **J***
