Regardless of what anyone else thinks of this guy, I've got to love him.
I've mentioned before that he has tirelessly campaigned for the kinds of
issues we as a group uphold, and this is just another example of his doing
so.

We need a surge of liberty, not more tyranny of war, says Ron Paul, in his
speech before the Speaker. He points out that among other things, Osama
Bin Ladin has definitely benefited from the "securing" (read, "take-over")
of Baghdad. He even calls for a REPEAL (gasp! who ever heard of a
legislator calling for repeals? They always try to pass endless more laws
criminalizing ordinary activity.) of the Selective Service Act - which set
up the fodder-feeding war machinery. And he alludes to the big banking
interests that benefit from endless war at the expense of the rest of us.

I am so looking forward to his receiving the Defenders of Habeas Corpus
award. In my view, he not only deserves this, but several other awards as
well: Defender of our Constitution, of Human Rights, Nobel Peace Prize,
etc. He inspires a ray of hope despite my disenfranchised attitude toward
many in Congress.
