Please join me and others in standing up for peace, Tuesday evening, to commemorate the 4th anniversary of the invasion of Iraq.
We need a good turnout for the special freeway blogging and candlelight vigil on March 20. Various groups, including the Progressive Action Alliance, Harris Co. Green Party, KPFT, World Can't Wait, Veterans for Peace, Military Families Speak Out, Houston Peace and Justice Center, Unitarians, Live Oak Friends, and other TBD Interfaith groups.
If you aren't already planning to join one of the other groups, I suggest you join the PAA/Green party group on the Montrose Blvd. bridge over the Southwest Freeway (US-59), west of downtown Houston. We'd like to get enough people so we can hold signs for traffic moving in both directions. (Usually, we only hold up signs for east-bound traffic in the evenings, as the sun illuminates the signs better.)
Also see the note from Teresa Allen below, who wants to organize something similar on I-45. Please contact her directly if you'd like to participate in that.
Experiencing freeway blogging is something you shouldn't miss, especially on this special day.
Details for the Freeway (Houston) event are at http://www.paa-tx.org/node/2540 including information on signs, the candlelight vigil (starting after sundown), which groups are on which bridges, and who to contact for each group.
The weather forecast looks great for Tuesday, but in case it changes, please remember that the event will go on regardless. With thousands of people dying each month in Iraq, the least we can do is be willing to stand in the rain for a couple of hours, for peace.
Please join me on one of the bridges Tuesday, as we reach out to thousands of motorists as we stand together for peace.

> Adventurous spirit? Teresa is looking for people who would like to take the simple message of "Peace" to I-45 overpasses. Unlike the I-59 overpasses, the sun would not be in drivers' eyes. There are 4 bridges in a row(including Quitman and N. Main, Crockett?) and there appears to be another excellent opportunity just N. of 1960 at Pattamatta/Hollow Tree Lane. I think that 6 people per overpass could convey the message effectively & provide critical mass needed.
