[PAA-Discuss] MoveOn.org vs Its Members; why I'm fed up with them

David Swanson did a good job expressing my sentiments about MoveOn,
concerning their support for the supplemental appropriations bill
that the House passed and would keep the war & death machine going
for another year and a half:

I also liked what David Swanson said about the heroes in Congress who
voted for peace:

Assuming Bush does veto the bill as he said he would (rather than
sign it to get the money and then unconstitutionally
signing-statement away the provisions to end the occupation next
year), then I think we need to keep leaning very hard on our
Congressional reps to OPPOSE ANY more supplemental appropriations for
the occupation. If enough members of Congress will just vote NO on
such bills, the occupation will be over. They don't have to PASS
anything to stop the occupation. Just stop feeding the addiction.
This is what Kucinich has been suggesting since last year.
And we need to encourage our reps to pass HR1234 (see
http://kucinich.us/iraqplan ), which is the closest thing I've seen
to a real solution for Operation Iraq Quagmire and would close the US
military bases and start a truth & reconciliation process so we'd
have a chance for some actual healing. Maybe most of Congress isn't
ready for this yet but I think we should keep pushing for this or
something like it.
