[PAA-Discuss] DCCC Tries to Control Texas Senate Race

Thanks for the info, Lyn.
This is still another reason why we should never, Never, NEVER give any money or support to the DCCC. The DSCC is just as bad as the DCCC, in my opinion. They are much worse than useless. They are the Republican arm of the Democratic party, and they're the ones pulling the strings.
The DCCC, DSCC, and the DLC are controlled by the big money interests that want to keep their rich corporate friends happy, probably the same ones that control the Rep. party. They support AIPAC, they support free trade, they're against universal single-payer health care, they leaned on Congress to support the nomination of Alberto Gonzales, they don't care if W trashes the Constitution, they support right wing candidates for the Dem. party who won't stand for any principles, etc. I could go on, but you get the idea.
The DCCC, DSCC, and the DLC have emasculated the Dem. party nationally and their pals (or perhaps the same people) have done the same to the state Dem. party.
I know the grassroots among the Dems are filled with progressives. But this so-called "leadership", the same Dem. leadership that got enough of their members in Congress to give the Liar-in-Chief a blank check to do whatever he wanted in Iraq, has no interest or respect for Dem. principles or grassroots concerns, and certainly not for the Texas Dem. party platform (which you can read at http://www.txdemocrats.org/whatwestandfor/partyplatform )
We need to tell them to go stick their plan where the sun don't shine. If there is to be any future for the Dem. party, we have to figure out how to counter these extremely destructive forces. Of course, the Greens are there and waiting for those of us who still remain Dems while hoping that the Dem. party can get its act together, and I'm glad the Greens have this lifeboat for us.
I wish we could get someone like David Van Os to run against Cornyn. He may never run again, though, unless he can get some assurances he won't be hung out to dry like the Texas Dem. party pseudo-leaders did to him, Gilbert, and others last year.

The blogging community feels strongly that the grassroots should choose the candidate not the moneyed interests from DC. There will be statement posted by several of us later today to that effect.

They may do this without any judicial or legislative oversight. You have no recourse, nor any protection -- save to call for the impeachment of the current [p]resident.
