[PAA-Discuss] AFP: Iraq orders halt to US firm's operations after shootout

This is exactly what it takes: A brave Iraqi Interior Minister standing up to the "corporatocracy" as Perkins coined it, in "Confessions of an Economic Hitman."

Torijos did so for years in Panama, and was successful in halting the oil-debt-bloodbaths that would have ensued had he not put his foot down.

I hope Interior Minister Jawad al-Bolani and Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki maintain their courage and publish their ongoing criminal investigation in outlets that reach the USA MSM. They're benefiting us: stopping terrorism wherever it strikes, and reaching for truth.

Hey, they might even free us from the grip of oil-dependency and end up diversifying our economy and reversing global warming, while they're at it. And they probably just thought they were stopping a local shoot-out.

That's the ripple-out effect of people with valor standing up and doing what's right: simply because they should.

Poor Ryan Crocker, our ambassador to Iraq, will not have any protection from Blackwater. I'm not counting on it. There are not going anywhere. Of course you know, there are thousands like Blackwater in Iraq who are responsible to no one except there superiors.

It seems that Blackwater mercenaries have killed 8 people in Iraq when a U.S. diplomatic convoy came under small arms fire. The eight people killed were civilians. Blackwater’s operating license in Iraq has been revoked by the interior minister of Iraq, and the company is forbidden to work anywhere within Iraq. Why do I have the feeling these mercenaries will do whatever they want whenever they want and they will not follow any order given by Iraq’s interior minister?
