I am not surprised that Danny Glover was producer of this film. He has been a
fine community activist for many years. With both Danny Glover and Michael
Moore involved this should be amazing. I have links to this on both of my blogs.
I don't get heavy traffic but anybody who sees 'em will see these links.

Impending disasters like hurricanes, when they involve friends and collegues, (sadly) become much more real. I hope Evelyn and all around her come though this safe and sound.
I also wish for the day when we don't have to rely so heavily on other media to get the word out to our community on the failures of our government to, among other things, take care of all of us but especially those (the poor) most vulnerable.
Numerous times, I've heard on KPFT, that almost no one dies in Cuba when they have a hurricane. There...well, you know the rest.

This is actually a Danny Glover Production in conjunction with the Michael Moore Camp. The original footage was filmed by Katrina victims who were in a shelter and approached the media with their info only to be turned away. It will be wonderful to view truth from those who experienced it.
Over the past week I have been in Daytona and felt the need to build an ark. It has rained day and night for the last 5 days and there is much flooding across the state. It is a bit scary when the lights go out and the wind is howling. The worst part is not knowing if all your family is on high ground and safe. This is not even close to what the victims of Katrina experienced and much of the distress was at the hands of the very government (local, state and federal) that is supposed to make sure that its citizens are safe. It is my prayer that we never allow the felony actions to be forgotten. The survivors of Katrina are still, in far too many cases, feeling the affects of something that went very wrong. We the people must stop being so very silent as the very fabric of America is allowed to erode or be stolen away by those who have lost sight of brotherhood, the constitution, and caring for all humanity.

Subject: new documentary on Katrina from Michael Moore's producers
from Michael Moore's latest newsletter, info about a new documentary on New Orleans & Katrina -- "Trouble the Water" (details and trailer at http://troublethewaterfilm.com ):
Two of Michael's producers from "Bowling for Columbine" and "Fahrenheit 9/11" -- Tia Lessin and Carl Deal -- have made an incredible documentary that's opening tomorrow in New York and L.A. (and the rest of the country over the coming weeks). It's called "Trouble the Water" and it won the Grand Prize at this year's Sundance Film Festival. Click here for more info -- and go see it!
