Dear Sisters and Brothers,

 

As you know, the UT Board of Regents recently authorized the layoffs of 3800 employees and extreme downsizing at UTMB Galveston. About 3000 people have already lost their jobs, and the loss of medical and psychiatric services will be a catastrophe for public health and the economy in Southeast Texas . 

 

A rally calling on UT Regents to Rebuild and Restore UTMB Galveston Now! will be held on Wednesday, December 17, at 4 pm. The rally will be held on the sidewalks on Market Street between 10th Street and 11th Street , across from Levin Hall, in Galveston .

 

The UT Board of Regents will be meeting in Austin the day after the rally, so please join UTMB employees, labor unions, and community members in sending the Regents a loud, clear message from Galveston .
