If we don't reason with people, how are we going to solve the problem we are freeway blogging about every Wednesday.  Ignoring them doesn't solve the problem, and responding with violence doesn't either.  BTW, *they* think *we* are the ones who are not rational.  (Of course, some of "us" aren't rational, as near as I can tell.)
