Michael Steele and the right wing can't stop attacking ACORN
Contribute in honor of Michael Steele to show you're fed up with his lies
Dear Juli,
You know the old saying that if everyone is attacking you, you must be doing something right? Well, ACORN must be doing a LOT right because the attacks just won't stop.
Last week I told you about how Republican National Committee Chair Michael Steele keeps smearing ACORN. He accused us of just about everything under the sun -- from receiving billions in stimulus money to falsifying the census.
It's all lies, and Michael Steele knows it.
He thought he'd get away with attacking hard-working Americans who are trying to improve their communities. But this time something is happening -- ordinary ACORN members are fighting back.
Thousands have signed our challenge to Michael Steele to visit with a family that ACORN has helped in this foreclosure crisis. And, to my surprise, contributions have started coming in -- contributions in honor of Michael Steele, to be specific. That's right, people are making donations to ACORN in Steele's name and asking us to send him a card to let him know that every time he attacks ACORN, he generates donations for the work that we do. I couldn't be more delighted. What a perfect way to fight back.
Can you join
the thousands of ACORN members who are fed up with Michael Steele? Contribute $35, $50, $100 or whatever you can afford right now, and we'll let him know that his outrageous lies are only making us stronger.
The truth is, we do need your donations. Contrary to Steele's claims, we aren't rolling in dough. Quite the opposite, in fact. We're a pretty lean organization and we need every penny we can find to work with and defend the ordinary Americans who work day in and day out to prevent foreclosures, fight for health care, and train the next generation of community organizers.
All of us are sick and tired of these harmful attacks -- they get in the way of the hard work we're doing -- and it's time for them to stop once and for all.
Make a contribution in honor of Michael Steele today and show him that these attacks will not go unanswered.
In solidarity and strength,
Bertha Lewis
