"Benefits they have paid for" is part of the problem. I'm sick & tired of
all the rich people who think they are "entitled" to social security or
medicaid just because "I paid into it, I deserve to get it back."

I can't tell you how many people I've known who
1) have a high-pay career
2) have their own retirement income gauranteed
3) claim they have a god-given right to social security just because
"that's MY money".
By that logic I'm entitled to a nuclear warhead in my backyard to aim at
whoever pisses me off.

And the icing on that cake is that those are the same people who cry like
babies about all those non-white people getting their "entitlements".
