I would expect as much from a Zionist....ask for reconciliation first after
they have committed their atrocities. Why? Because both sides are to
blame....this is only more sophistry.
How did Mr. Hamburger get on this list? He is a wanta be agent...a
volunteer..
Well...yes, there should be a truth and reconciliation meetings after there
is Justice for Palestinians....like in South Africa when the Arpartheid
government is replaced and there is one man one vote government of all of
Palestine within the 1947 borders. Then we will talk about what to do with
the war crimes and the war criminals.

Subject: [PAA-Discuss] GAZA........A Tale of Two
Peoples.......DATELINE:JERUSALEM
I sit in Jerusalem.....cringing with every news report. Here we are
again....locked in battle.....and not just on the battlefield. My e-mailbox
is singed from the heat of various messages coming from both Zionist
sources....and Palestinian. Full of anguish, pain, vitriol and
accusations...these missives do battle for my heart and my mind, because,
you see.....I have the ability to feel pained by the tragedy from both
perspectives. We are both 'right'....and 'wrong'. Please forgive what
might appear to be either an indecisive or insensitive position on the
current war between Gaza and southern Israel. My attitude is
intellectual.....but based upon my emotional position which cannot
countenance the killing of innocents.....or combatants, for that matter.
Please understand that I intentionally leave politics and posturing out of
this discourse. I do have political positions, attitudes and the aggregate
of what I consider 'facts'.....but they mostly leave me when this miasma
grows to such proportions. This, perhaps is my 'curse' as many others now
do the opposite.....clinging to either one banner or the other......which is
not only quite understandable.....but far more comfortable.
I invite all to consider standing with me in The Heart of the Matter. This
is the space where people meet firstly....heart to heart. I interpret the
wonderful Sanskrit word, 'namaste' to generally mean: that the place in you
which is God/Allah....greets the corresponding place me. This is a place
where we can leave our attitudes and anger in a safe place near the
door....so we can retrieve them when we leave this Holy space and resume our
usual lives. After we have had such meetings with those we perceive to be
our enemies.....perhaps we can begin to respectfully entertain
dialog.....which may allow us to heal our respective massive woundedness.
Look at what the South Africans achieved with their Truth and Reconciliation
meetings!.....but they had first stopped killing each other.
If one attends the many demonstrations which abound.....I suggest not only
standing with one's sisters and brothers....but showing the 'other side'
that we do not stand with the killing of innocents.....that we are sensitive
to the terrible loss of lives and destruction. There are, what I believe to
be misconceptions about both sides.....characterizing the other as
bloodthirsty, inhumane and blaming of the victims. This is certainly not
true....in the main. The 'others' cannot know this unless we all show it.
For those brave enough.....listen to the (non)choir as well as one's own. I
include a link from each 'side'. Have no expectations that one will hear
any soothing songs from the side which is opposite one's own.....in fact,
one will likely hear a cacophony of anger and distortion of what one
believes to be 'facts'. Thus we have made our conflict.....but this may
help us to heal and to course-correct towards justice and peace. Perhaps
the goal of peace is unrealistic in the short-term......so maybe a sessation
of hostilities can be our immediate goal.
