Subject: Re: [PAA-Discuss] The Men Who Ran Away

This is a sick, twisted piece by a PhD in English Literature. Not a psychologist, not a psychiatrist, certainly not anyone who can claim to be qualified to understand human behavior.

Oh, yeah, let's make sure all the women "reclaim" their rightful role, whatever the hell that is, and go sit meekly in a corner while some BIG STRONG MAN protects them, otherwise, those men might do terrible things.

This is an insult to MEN everywhere. The men in my life are better than this, they don't need for women to play-act something they are not. They are not "feminized" or "pink" men, either (talk about insults! ).

This sounds like it could have been written by the misogynist Michael Savage.

Mr. Makow (I refuse to honor him with the honorific "doctor") is a worse misogynist than he.

? I could not agree more strongly. | have noticed, in the past, that articles posted by certain individuals seem to have a similar misogynistic theme as this one. I have to assume that the original authors and posters (you know who you are) of such articles are such insecure, cowardly, pathetic losers that they can only feel empowered at the expense of women, can only achieve self respect?by the subjugating & debasement of others & hey, women are convenient, right ?
? Just for the record, I *am* a feminist, & will be damned if I apologize for it.? I am also very happily married (29 years) to a decent, loyal, honorable man (that's *man*, not guy) who is secure enough that he doesn't have to demean others to get his testosterone fix.
? There are always going to be those who don't stand up well in emergencies & thank God, there will always be heroes when you least expect it.? So how about we all forget about gender, & just strive to be good, caring, compassionate, brave people who you can count on in a pinch. Maybe we can raise our kids to just be "good" people.
? Or is that too pink ?
