If we can't be there, we can still call;
_Join us on November 12th to
Call for Accountability for U.S. Torture_
(http://afj.convio.net/site/R?i=YvrHoEqK7HNyBKJJbw-OfQ..)
U.S. laws and international treaties require our government
to investigate allegations of torture.
It's not a choice –
it is America’s responsibility to enforce the rule of law.

_If you are unable to make it in person, pick up the phone, and call
Attorney General Holder on November 12th_
(http://afj.convio.net/site/R?i=_X0aB-5tRb8kZzFyPp7wJA..) .
On November 12th, we will raise awareness about the need to hold
accountable the Justice Department lawyers who authorized torture during the Bush
administration.
What: Demand Transparency and Accountability for U.S. Torture
Where: Outside the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel
1127 Connecticut Ave., NW
Washington, DC
When: 12:00pm – 1:30pm,
Thursday, November 12, 2009
Why: The Federalist Society, an ultraconservative legal organization, is
featuring John Yoo, one of the authors of the infamous “torture memos” as a
speaker at their annual convention.
Join Alliance for Justice and other human rights and social justice
organizations and activists as we hand out copies of the U.S. Constitution and
ask Attorney General Eric Holder to authorize a full investigation of the
Bush administration’s descent into torture.
