For all you KPFT members out there --

If you've already sent in your ballot, congratulations and thanks (no
matter who you voted for) -- you've done your part to make sure the
election is not extended past next Wednesday, so the station can stop
playing the candidate statements that I'm sure you are getting tired
of.

If you have NOT already sent in your ballot, remember that they need
to be RECEIVED by Wednesday, Oct. 15 (same day your income tax return
is due if you requested an extension). So you procrastinators may
need to attend to both of these pretty quickly. You don't have to
rank every candidate, although I suggest you do rank at least your
top 3 or 4 choices.

For the KPFT ballots, in order for them to be received by next
Wednesday, I strongly suggest you make sure they are picked up by the
postal service by Saturday. Monday is a federal holiday (Columbus
day), and mail will not be picked up then.

If you're afraid you won't get your ballot mailed in time, or you
didn't get one, or lost yours, or have other questions, please
contact Ann Shaw, our Local Election Supervisor, at election at kpft.org
and ask her what to do. To play it safe, if you don't get your
ballot in the mail right away, you can bring yours to the station at
419 Lovett Blvd. in person next Tuesday or Wednesday, but you need to
be there between 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ann can also give you a
replacement ballot then if you are a member (she'll check), in case
you lost yours or didn't get one.

If you still have not made up your mind who to vote for or how to
rank your top choices, the last candidate forum will be broadcast
tomorrow (Friday) morning in the Open Journal time slot, from 9:05 AM
until 10 AM (with a few breaks). If you miss the on-air forums, you
can listen online by finding the Open Journal programs in the KPFT
audio archives at http://archive.kpft.org The LSB candidate forum
dates have been Sep. 21, 22, and 23, and Oct. 7, 8, and 9
(yesterday, today, and tomorrow).

Written candidate statements plus questionnaire responses (more info
than is in the candidate pamphlet you got in the mail) along with
photos and audio candidate spots are at
http://pacificafoundation.org/cand_list.php?sta=kpft&ret=kpft.org

Thanks for supporting KPFT, our station for peace!

Bill
