We asked you to call on Attorney General Eric Holder to uphold the Constitution and the law by releasing the Justice Department’s report on the “torture memos” and authorizing a full investigation of those who ordered, designed, and justified torture.  Over 1,400 people responded by signing our petition.

But there is more work to be done and we need your help.  Can you support AFJ this month?  Your tax-deductible gift before September 30th will help ensure we have the necessary resources to launch the next step of our campaign.

Attorney General Eric Holder recently announced an investigation of low-level CIA operatives who exceeded the grisly authority provided by the “torture memos.”  But we need to ensure that the superiors who ordered these actions -- and the lawyers who provided the legal cover -- are held accountable.  

AFJ's new 10-minute documentary, Tortured Law, examines the role lawyers played in authorizing torture.  This fall, Tortured Law will be used as a centerpiece for discussions, forums, debates, and educational events as part of a campaign calling upon Attorney General Holder to conduct a full investigation that includes the authors of the "torture memos".  

We cannot succeed in this fight without your support.  Every dollar makes a difference – making and distributing films with a purpose takes a lot of money.  This month, 
you may go out and enjoy a film or purchase a DVD. For the same price, you can help AFJ continue this important work with a contribution of: 




$10 - the price of a movie ticket
$25 - the cost of two movie tickets and a bucket of popcorn
$50 - the price of one season of Law and Order on DVD
$250 - the price of the complete series of the West Wing on DVD





With your help, we will be able to collect thousands more petition signatures, build on the movement calling for accountability, and ensure equal justice for all.  Only by knowing all of the facts can our nation move forward and take the necessary actions to uphold the Constitution and the law.
