Let's face it, Lee, Arab leaders don't give a shit about the Palestinian
people. If they did they would demand that Israel recognize the borders set
up in 1948 and either get their asses behind them or they would demand that
Israel actively engage with the entire Palestinian population and equal
rights and freedoms would be recognized for everyone and the Palestinian
refugees would be allowed to return to THEIR land, and ALL PEOPLE would live
freely in ONE STATE. This two state solution is pure bullshit and rhetoric
and signifies NOTHING. Nobody in their right mind believes the Israelis want
peace. They want the Palestinian "problem" to disappear. So do the Arab
leaders. They care NOTHING about the Palestinians. Whose business is it to
"curb" another country anyway?

4) Mideast Peace Key to Countering Iran, Arabs Told U.S. Diplomats
Eli Clifton and Jim Lobe, Inter Press Service, December 8, 2010

Washington - Gleeful Israeli leaders and their neo-conservative supporters
here have spent much of the past week insisting that the State Department
cables published by Wikileaks prove that Sunni Arab leaders in the Middle
East are far more preoccupied with the threat posed by an ascendant and
possibly nuclear Iran than with a resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian
conflict.

But a closer look at the relevant cables shows a far more consistent message
to Washington coming from its Arab allies: that curbing Iran and resolving
the Israeli- Palestinian conflict are inextricably linked and that the most
effective way of achieving the former is make tangible progress on the
latter.
