funny, I guess..........I went to wikileaks last night and researched the
dates during the massacre in Gaza........from 27 Dec 08 to 19 jan
09.........lots and lots of cables during that time, mostly about trying to
get other countries to blockade Iran but nothing about Israel which confirms
According to an Arabic investigative journalism website
<http://www.syriatruth.info/content/view/977/36/>
http://www.syriatruth.info/content/view/977/36/ Assange had received money
from semi-official Israeli sources and promised them, in a "secret,
video-recorded agreement," not to publish any document that may harm Israeli
security or diplomatic interests.

There seem to be 2 opposite factions; one who regards Assange as a super
hero, the other who speaks of him
as an ego maniac, who drove a bargain with Israel.
>From what I understand, part of the messages from Arab officials have to be
culturally interpreted. In some cultures (from my experience West Indian,
Latin American, some Asian) contradicting a stranger (foreigner) is not
done. Half a century ago, Anglos were frustrated and angry at hearing
"manana" and called it lying.
I guess if Assange had really 'outed' Israel, he'd probably be dead, by now.
However, whether he protected Israel or not, I believe that a lot more
people are taking a critical look at that country than before the leaks. And
who knows, there may be some bombshells in the other thousands of memos.

I don't see that the cables say all that much about Israel, Anne. Everyone
who has been paying attention knows that Israel has been wanting to take out
Iran's nuclear facilities, so that's not news. In fact, I wouldn't be a bit
surprised if a large majority of Americans would agree to striking Iran in
order to "protect" the perpetual victim, Israel. Let's face it, the American
people are getting their news from the MSM; therefore, they are getting the
information these "leaks" contain cherry picked. Israel still comes out
smelling like a rose, Anne. This is all a power play going on in the Middle
East with the Arab countries latched on to the hind tit of the United
States. The Arab people don't want Iran attacked. The Arab goons running the
various countries will tell the United States whatever it wants to hear in
order to get the "protection" of the U.S. or the ability to purchase
weaponry from this country.

a rose

by the news media in the past week.... But a careful reading of all the
diplomatic cables reporting the views of Saudi and other Gulf Arab regimes
on Iran shows that the Times' account seriously distorted the content - and
in the case of the Saudis, ignored the context - of the cables released by
Wikileaks."
