The people protesting were probably the 85% of Israeli Arabs that condemned
Operation Cast Lead, Lee and maybe a handful of Israeli jews. As I said
before, Israel needs to get behind the 1947 borders that were set up by the
UN or Israel needs to recognize Palestinians as the rightful inhabitants of
the land of Palestine and if they are to live peacefully in one state then
ALL people must have equal rights and freedoms and ALL Palestinian refugees
must be allowed to return to Palestine. Also, I believe the name PALESTINE
should be returned to all of that land. The apartheid wall must be
destroyed, as well. None of this will happen, however, because Israel
doesn't want peace. They want the Palestinians to disappear. This is much
like Hitler's Final Solution to the "jew problem" wouldn't you say? Kill and
torture Palestinian people, cause Palestinians to flee their homeland and
put the rest either in an Israeli prison or push them into the world's
largest open air concentration camp, Gaza.

I put out a Palestine ~ Isreal Notebook when Cast Lead began. It had photos
of thousands of people in Israeli protesting that war and one of young
protesters blocking the entrance/exit of an army base. I get info from
several Jewish Peace groups which believe that the Israelis must leave
Palestine down to the 1967 borders and share Jerusalem with the Palestinians
if Israel is ever to be able to live in peace. Lee
