The premise of your question “Isn't "Zionist" a derogatory term?” is wrong. Zionism is an ideology which was formed by some Jewish thinkers in late 19 century and then developed to an ideology of racist nationalists who colonized the lands in the historical Palestine and formed an undemocratic statehood (a Jewish State) by force. Like any other colonialists, the occupation of Palestine (same as here in the U.S.) was a bloody military operations against indigenous people with the aim of a complete ethnic cleansing. 

 

This is the root of all problems and the occupation – which today we see still continues as the illegal settlements. The main aim of Zionists was to push the Palestinians out of their villages, land and replace them in other countries and deny their right to return to their home. At the same time transfer the Jewish people from the European countries (at the beginning) and later from all other countries around the world.    

 

That’s why the Zionists (like Israeli Consulate officials) shouldn’t have the KPFT airtime as a tool to misinform the listeners and purify themselves as Pro Peace or the spokespersons for the radio “Voice of Peace”. KPFT PD’s interview with these Zionists was in itself a distortion of history. It is like we interview Donald Rumsfeld about “Abu Ghraib” and how he is against torture!? Nobody could say, well KPFT is just trying to build a bridge and have a dialogue with Republicans! This would be dishonest because we know what the Bush administration and specifically Donald Rumsfeld have done in Iraq. The Israeli Consulate has manipulated the situation and used the KPFT airtime to misinform our listeners and pretend that they are for peace without facing any challenges from our PD.

 

I’m planning to elaborate more about Zionism and KPFT.
