Hey!
If I might jump in here, maybe I can simplify this problem. It seems to me that it all boils down to free will. Do we each have the authority/responsibility to choose our fate or are we destined to live out someone else's fears and dreams?
Certainly I, personally cannot shift the 60+ year old war machine (aka: military/industrial complex) from swords to plowshares. Or can I?
"The Bogeyman will get you!" My momma used to say when I was misbehaving and she needed some way to motivate a four year old sponge of a boy. Loud and often our pundits proclaim the "Terrorists will get you!"
"FEAR": the most effective motivator that I know of. Fear of hunger, pain, embarassment, DEATH, or simply fear of the unknown, The threat of the stick seems usually simpler and cheaper than a bunch of carrots and the wherewithall to dangle them just out of reach. It is small wonder then that fear is the "weapon of mass distraction" of choice.
What if fear were obsolete? What if fear, anger, greed were suddenly inneffective? Could it be that these emotions are not essential for survival?
I posit that we each have the ability to choose. To choose between a sense of who I am as a victim of massive, overwhelming forces of malevolence orrrrrrr as an enormously powerful being of light come to the here and now to learn to play well with others and to experience what it might mean to be human.
Could it really be just that simple: Choosing to express out innate compassion and empathy for our planetary shipmates or to kill them?
Hugs;~)Ray
