[PAA-Discuss] YOO in Houston Report and POTA Notes

dear PAAers and friends ,

Just a couple of different reports ....

Today , John Yoo came to Houston for a booksigning .
The Houston Club had a handful ...and I mean a veritable
handful of protestors .  Mostly World Can't Wait people ,
and a small representation for PAA and other groups .
It would seem that in a city our size a few more than
1 in a MILLION  people would take the time to protest the
absolute evil that Yoo and Bybee represent in our society.
These are the men that inked the torture memo's giving the
Bush/Cheney cabal carte blance to justify Abu Ghraib among
other war atrocities .

Upon arrival , the Professor / Attorney was greeted by a group
who had been chanting things like .....
" Here's a greeting for the Bush/Cheney henchmen
 ...
            F**K  YOO
   some people kill people with a Fountain Pen
            F**K  YOO  ! "
  all in all , it was a way too small , but endearing protest .....
     Thanks to Emilio and the WCW gang mostly .....

Turning to the POTA update from Monday night's conference call

Cindy Sheehan has the permit to set up Camp in Washington D.C.
     on the ellipse between the Washington Monument and the
      White House , March 13-20 .
After the permit expires on the 20th , the plan is to stay together as
    much as possible ....... until US Soldiers return home .
The 13th and 14th will be community
 building , set up and troubleshooting.
Monday 15th will include Non-violent training  and  outreach , particularly
     to the spring break students who want to participate
Every night will have  a  " Dinner with a Dose of Reality "
   Tuesday 16th will be a Rachel Corrie Commemoration ( with Rachel's parents
         attending ....Rachel was the young American journalist mowed over by
           the IDF while she was peacefully visiting Gaza just a few years ago )
  Wednesday 17th should be awesome beyond belief with two of my personal faves
       David Swanson and Debra Sweet ( of World Can't Wait ) on the topic
       Holding the War Criminals Accountable
  Thursday 18th ,
 Cindy Sheehan addresses the POTA collective
  Friday 19th a special trip to Charlottesville to greet John Yoo is planned
   Saturday 20th Dahr Jamal will speak along with 
        Jon Gold  911 Truth Activist , to demand a new investigation of September 11, 2001.
 The energy is very positive for the POTA gathering and if many of us are unable to
   attend ( it looks doubtful for me at this point ) ...... we might at least have as many
   supporting and related events here in Houston as possible to support Ms. Sheehan
   and her tremendous effort to End the War Machine and to Hold the Robber Barons
   and all those complicit in America's Capitalist Draconic Corporatocracy , accountable .
