Please see George's note below, about Deb Shafto, who's running for governor.
If you missed the last gubernatorial debate, you can watch it at http://www.klru.org/blog/2010/10/gubernatorial-debate
Also, please remember that even if you plan to vote straight Dem, you can override individual choices. There are some good Democrats running for state legislature, judges, etc. and I hope you won't forget them.
In addition, note that there is NO Democrat running for state Comptroller against Susan Combs, so I hope that even 100% Dems will vote for the Green Party candidate (Edward Lindsay) in that race.
All the Texas Green party candidates are listed at http://txgreens.org

>I would appreciate it if you would forward this to the PAA list, if that seems appropriate to you.

>I am writing to ask that you vote your conscience tomorrow, if you haven't voted yet. There is a clear difference between the positions of the Green Party and either corporate sponsored party. Deb Shafto's speaking at the Gubernatorial debate in opposition to the death penalty, in support of a progressive income tax on the top 20% of income earners in the state to pay for essential social services, and her suggestion that immigrants are worthy people, make a contribution to our society, and should be treated with compassion, was the first time the people of Texas have heard such a voice. If she was speaking your values, (see <http://www.electdebshafto.com/>www.electdebshafto.com for the debate and more) then I would ask you to vote for her and the other Greens on the ballot. If we don't stand for our values in voting, we can't expect to see the democratic process bring a world come into being that is consistent with those values.
