Harris County Republicans  continue
election abuse 
Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector Leo Vasquez has acknowledged  turning 
over expensive and possibly sensitive voter data to  Republican extremists. 
This follows a history of Leo Vasquez and  Harris County Republicans 
conspiring to use county resources and  private data to promote an extreme right 
wing agenda.

Harris County Tax  Assessor-Collector Leo Vasquez has turned over thousands 
of  voter records to a right-wing Tea Party group named King  Street 
Patriots that operates through a shell organization  called "True the Vote." These 
voter records often contain  social security and/or driver’s license 
numbers as well as  addresses and dates of birth. Because this data can be used to 
 steal a person’s identity, Vasquez’s office has claimed that  redacting 
the data would cost as much as _$1.5  million._

partisan organization was not improper. _The  Houston Chronicle reported_

Was the actual value of the data  charged and paid?
According to court  records filed in litigation just last year, the cost of 
the  type of data provided to "True the Vote" should have cost at  least 
$142,000 based on pricing that Vasquez’s office provided  Democrats last year. 
Leo Vasquez must immediately confirm  through receipts that he has received 
at least $142,000 from  King Street Patriots/True the Vote as payment for 
the data, or  admit to illegally giving away private county information.  
Vasquez must also produce copies of the voter data given to  the King Street 
Patriots in order to determine whether voter  social security numbers were 
illegally  disclosed.

a paid employee of a  GOP political consulting firm, Campaign Data Systems 
(CDS),  owned by Republican State Representative Dwayne Bohac. On _the  firm’

provided to obtain the data is Ed Johnson,  Bohac’s business partner AND the 
Harris  County Associate Voter Registrar. How did CDS get the drivers  
license records? It appears that Bohac obtained the records  improperly by way of
