Friends,

It's busy times at Vote Solar. That's not to say there's ever been a time
here that we would call "slow," but these days we are absolutely running -
no, sprinting - to keep pace with unprecedented opportunity to advance solar
policies across the U.S. That's why we're so excited to announce two
additions to the Vote Solar team . . .

Kelly Foley, Southwestern Regional Director of Utility-Scale Solar Policy.
Kelly is using her energy law expertise to help us build the regulatory
foundations for incorporating significant solar resources into the
southwestern power grid. It's a big job, but she's well-equipped to tackle it having
spent more than a decade as regulatory counsel for two California
utilities: Sempra Energy and PG&E. Go get 'em Kelly.
Peter Olmsted, Mid-Atlantic Solar Policy Advocate. Expanding the Vote
Solar empire with his new office in Pennsylvania, Peter is our lead solar
advocate for the Mid-Atlantic states. He was most recently lead energy policy
staff for the Delaware Senate Energy & Transit Committee and assistant to
State Senator McDowell where he forged the state's important RPS and net
metering policies. We look forward to seeing more of his good work spread
throughout the region.
In addition to adding these two advocacy rockstars to our team, we're also
expanding our policy initiatives with a new community solar campaign.
Whether the problem is a shaded roof or an unmotivated landlord on a rental,
the traditional panels-on-your-roof model simply doesn't work for all
Americans. Our community solar campaign aims to advance new policy models like
solar co-ops and virtual net metering that empower more members of the
community to tap the sun for their electricity needs. We'll have policy tools and
other resources to share soon. For those who want to learn more about
community solar in the meantime, our partners at IREC will be hosting a webinar
on the topic on Sept. 21 at 2 PM Eastern Time. _Register here_
