Joseph, I have been planning to move the HPNews account from Chase to a
community bank. As far as I can tell, there is no such thing in Houston!
(Maybe we should start our own?) I checked credit unions. Primeway, where we
have had our account since 1967 has been great, but it doesn't take
businesses, even if the request is from someone who does have an account
with them. Other Credit Unions don't take them either or you need to have
your personal account with them or be part of a company which has an account
with them. However, with a private account, you should have no problem
finding a good credit union and we do recommend Primeway. Re HPNews: I have
found 2 banks, Sterling and The Green Bank which sound "local" but learned
last night that Green Bank is tied to the Koch Brothers in NY!!!!!! A no,
no! Sterling is in Dallas, Houston and San Antonio so far. Don't know if
they plan to remain a Texas-only company. Our monthly fee at Chase is $12
and at Sterling will be $7 and "it may go down." Anyway, happy hunting. I
think the way for you to go local is with a credit union. Lee

Knowa local one?
I am closing my Chase accounts. Anyone done some research tell me whats a
progressive alternative?
I am opening an alternative as soon as I have some clarity about ones that
support the people more with fair practices for the lower half of our
population.
I am appreciative of your information.
Together we can turn to a world that can serve all equally.
