The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) established an online
presence Thursday, when the Treasury Department unveiled a "beta"
version of its website.

The CFPB, created as part of the Dodd-Frank financial reform law, does
not officially begin work until July, but it is already reaching out
to the public for input via the Internet.

“We want to make sure that you are with us all the way while we build
it,” said Elizabeth Warren, the Harvard law professor charged with
setting up the bureau, in an introductory video. "We are now open for
suggestions," she added.

Welcome to the online home of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
(CFPB). This new bureau is in the construction phase, but we’re
already hard at work on plans to make consumer financial products and
services clearer for Americans.

About Us

The central mission of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)
is to make markets for consumer financial products and services work
for Americans—whether they are applying for a mortgage, choosing among
credit cards, or using any number of other consumer financial products.

At the consumer bureau, we will: educate, enforce, study
