Subject: [PAA-Discuss] About the Huffington Post Sale

I hear some of our friends are “disappointed” by the sale of Huffington
Post; well I’m not “disappointed” or surprised at all, nor should you.

In 1990s, Arianna Huffington endorsed Newt Gingrich’s “Republican
Revolution”, she supported the presidency of Bob Dole in 1996. In 1998
called for the resignation of then President Bill Clinton over the Monica
Lewinsky affair. In Mid 1999 her opposition to the US-led bombing of Serbia
was the starting point of her shift toward more liberal and “progressive”
views. Since 2000, her criticism of the unjust conditions of the hard
working people combined with her disapproval of Bush-Cheney administration,
made her the darling of the American “progressive” circles. On the business
level, already as a wealthy divorcée, her political popularity led to
attract many investors in launching the “Huffington Post” in 2005. Arianna
Huffington as one of the hardcore supporter of Barak Obama in 2008 made the
Huffington Post a valuable source of information for the “progressive” and
Liberals in the Democratic Party.

Now in 2011, after AOL buys Huffington Post for $315 million - according to
the analysts - Arianna Huffington today is $100 million richer. This is the
wealthy liberal cycle of life.

As an independent thinker, I never put my full trust in the liberal or
“progressive” ideology and believes. I work with the liberals and
“progressive” people in the struggle for peace and justice; but through this
journey, I’m always aware of this fact that the best liberal is only a
partial fellow traveler, unless he or she seeks for the fundamental changes
of a systems that has divided us to many small fragmented dissents.

So, I’m not “disappointed” or surprise at all.

LEAVE”!
