Last night David Letterman had Anderson Cooper on the show. He is the
journalist who was kicked and beaten in Egypt by the "thugs" as he called
them. He got several great points across. He explained that the thugs were
supporters of Mubarak who were probably paid to be there, but that he wasn't
sure of that; He explained that the Muslim Brotherhood was only 20% of the
protesters, that there were many other groups and individuals involved; he
said that Al Qaeda hated them because they were pledged to nonviolence; he
said that Suliaman was the head of internal security and that the US sent
people to Egypt -- to him -- in rendition to be tortured and that he
imagined the protesters would not be happy with him as President. It was
fantastic. The thing he did not mention the amount of aid for weapons etc
the US sent to the dictatorial regime. Did talk about it being a cruel
dictatorship. Lee
