Please call !!!
On Wednesday, October 5th, NRCAT is joining other groups from around the
nation to sponsor a National Call-in Day to urge the Senate to pass the
National Criminal Justice Commission Act, S. 306. This bill would create a
commission to conduct a long overdue review of our criminal justice system. N
RCAT believes that this review would lead to positive changes in the
treatment of prisoners, including, potentially, a recommendation to limit the use
of prolonged solitary confinement.
PLEASE CALL ON WEDNESDAY!
On Wedenesday, please call the Senate leaders, Senators Harry Reid and
Mitch McConnell, and ask them to prioritize passage of the National Criminal
Justice Commission Act, S. 306.
Senator Reid: (202) 224-3542
Senator McConnell: (202) 224-2541
Message (please feel free to modify as desired):
Hi, my name is ___________. I am calling to ask the Senator to prioritize
passage of the National Criminal Justice Commission Act, S. 306. The
National Criminal Justice Commission Act would create a commission to identify
ways to improve the criminal justice system. Such changes would improve
public safety, improve prisoner treatment, and save money.
Thank you for helping us support this important legislation.
Sincerely,
Rev. Richard Killmer
Executive Director, NRCAT
