Come Visit with the ACLU of Texas
Dear ACLU of Texas Supporter,
Too many students today are being pushed out of school because of unfair
disciplinary policies and unsafe school environments. This month the ACLU of
Texas launches a Youth Rights campaign to stand up for Texas students. We
are taking the campaign on the road, traveling to cities across the state to
raise awareness about youth rights issues and to encourage community members
to get involved.
<http://tx.aclu.org/site/R?i=feBZihiUDUMGkgVlmv-GLQ> Can you make it to a
road show event in Houston or The Woodlands?
The Youth Rights campaign calls for policies that will seal off the
school-to-prison pipeline and demand equality for all Texas school students.
Current school disciplinary policies too often push students out of class
and into the juvenile justice system. Students of color and those with
special needs are especially vulnerable to push-out practices and discipline
that discriminates. The Youth Rights campaign will promote policies to
ensure that Texas youth are educated, not incarcerated.
Help spread the word and join the ACLU of Texas at these road show stops.
