You're right, for the moment, at least. How can we be sure that the donated clothes, further down the line, haven't been "chipped". I'm with you about the mistaken support we give the clothing industry. And I meant to say, 'we all have enough to wear already' and then tongue in cheek, 'if not, make it'.
How about informing the government that we will go naked, starting with those of us the 'culture' deems to be too old and too ugly to be seen. We can also inform 'the culture' that we do not need to buy clothes. We all have enough "stuff" somewhere in our possession to glue, staple, sew, hammer (you name it) into some body cover. The clothes industry is where we can hit them hard. Anne

At the risk of sounding smug, just stop buying new clothes, My son, his girlfriend, & I pretty much get all our stuff at thrift or charity resale shops. And I'm working on hubby. I especially recommend the church or charity stores. You would be amazed at the nice stuff people donate for a good cause ! With all the stuff that's out there already, who needs to buy new ?

Also, you can clothes from greatergood.com Nice stuff, & again, it goes to a good cause. And you better belive, *they* wouldn't put chips in their clothes ; )
