More Gulf Freeway Blogging

The "Surge Smurge" sign was displayed to south bound traffic one morning although this direction is much better for evening. The amount of display area is smaller because of the road signs attached to the bridge. Amazingly, the traffic is much denser after dark. Signs can still be seen then because of the headlights of the vehicles coming down the overhead to the north and the tall freeway lights about 75 yards from the pedestrian bridge. Again, there is not as much interaction with the drivers and passengers as on the Southwest Freeway but it is a good place to get the word out. We estimated 6,000 to 7,000 vehicles per hour one evening. We now have a bigger sign with "Call Congress 800 459-1887" that can be seen from a good distance.
