Houston "receives" Bush's status report on Iraq

The Congressionally mandated and long anticipated "progress report" on our war on Iraq is being written, not by Gen. David Petraeus and our ambassador to Iraq—which was promised—but by the White House. Spinning the report began several weeks ago, and the spin will increase as the release nears. Release date is likely to be 9/11. At any rate, that is when the peace community in Houston will call for our government to comply with the wishes both of the Iraqi people and the American people:

END THE OCCUPATION: BRING THE TROOPS HOME NOW.

Houston events are as follows (all on Tuesday, Sep. 11, 2007):

Rally outside Houston City Hall at 2 p.m.

A group of individuals will address the Houston City Council inside city hall (2-5 p.m.)
