Free lecture on "Ethical Vegetarianism and Non-violence in the World's Religions"

Event Description:

Society of P.E.A.C.E. and the Hare Krishna Cultural Center present author/historian Rynn Berry for a free lecture entitled, "Ethical Vegetarianism and Non-violence in the World's Religions". The event will take place at the Hare Krishna Cultural Center on Sunday, September 30, 2007, with the Kirtan at 5:30, Lecture at 6:00 and a community vegan meal at 7:00 pm.

Rynn Berry is historical advisor to the NAVS (North American Vegetarian Society) and is on the Advisory Board of Earth Save. In his lectures, articles & books, he has specialized in the study of vegetarianism from an historical perspective. He is the author of several books including, Famous Vegetarians and Their Favorite Recipes and Food for the Gods: Vegetarianism and the World's Religions. At the University of Pennsylvania and Columbia, where Rynn did his graduate and undergraduate work, he specialized in ancient history and comparative religion.
