Today's Chronicle has EXCELLENT coverage of the Iraq war 2000th casualty
observance that started yesterday in the Heights. It covers more than half the
front page (including a large picture) and two more full pages inside section
A (A20 and A21). For details on this and other related coverage go to
_www.chron.com_ (http://www.chron.com) and follow the links.

The observance is not supposed to be an anti-war protest but it does keep
the victims from being forgotten, force the public to remember and reflect on
the war, and ultimately to wonder about why we are fighting there. This will
inevitably raise questions that loom larger all the time, which will
eventually lead to the truth that we are all aware of.

I hope everyone will send the Chronicle a brief attaboy of some sort. Mine
is forwarded below.
