[PAA-Discuss] Bushianity - the new Christianity

Actually, it's a modernized version of Calvinism, a sect of the protestant reformation which
became very popular with the merchant class of Europe as it taught that you become successful
because you are among God's chosen and everyone else is screwed. If you lose your business and
fortune it's because 1) you sinned or 2) you weren't really among God's chosen after all.

Calvin was a big cheerleader for capitalism and refuted claims that usury was a sin.

What really distinguishes Bushianism is the emphasis on Old Testament "Mosaic Law", previously
regarded by Christians as having been made obsolete by the teachings of Jayzus. All of the
repulsive scripture quoted by right-wing fanatics comes from the OLD Testament.
