Yoo  Said Bush Could Order Civilians to Be 'Massacred' 
Michael  Isikoff, Newsweek | The chief author of the Bush administration's 
"torture  memo" told Justice Department investigators that the president's  
war-making authority was so broad that he had the constitutional power to  
order a village to be "massacred," according to a report released Friday  
night by the Office of Professional Responsibility.

"operation" that  killed my son is over. "Operation Iraqi Freedom" got its name 
after the  "great" Powers That Be figured out that "Operation Iraqi Liberation" 
stood  for "OIL." Now, Obama's SecDef, Robert Gates, has changed that 
benign name  to an even more New-Agey, Sweeter-Than-Honey name: "Operation New  
Dawn."

Anne Gearan,  Associated Press | Former Secretary of State Alexander Haig, 
a four-star  general who served as a top adviser to three presidents and had 
 presidential ambitions of his own, died Saturday of complications from an  
infection, his family said. He was 85.
