With the passing of Ester King, we lost a great leader, teacher, and
activist who had dedicated his life to helping others and who was an
inspiration to so many people in Houston.
Below are the arrangements for services/remembrances, that I've
received from his family and from Gloria Rubac, plus some new links
in the Houston Chronicle about Ester.
As Gloria has stated so well: "His life as a fighter for the
oppressed was exemplary, the knowledge and history of struggle that
he shared was all-encompassing, and his dedication for all working
people unparalleled."
Wake--Friday evening, 6-8 PM, Shrine of the Black Madonna, 5317
Martin Luther King Blvd, Houston 77021
Funeral--Saturday morning, 11:00 AM, Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church,
3826 Wheeler Avenue, near Scott, Houston 77004
Repast Gathering--Saturday afternoon, S.H.A.P.E. Center, 2-6 PM,
