To celebrate the midpoint of the UN's Decade of Nonviolence (DNV), the DNV-Houston Board conceived the idea of “Peace Week” with a goal to bring together organizations working for Peace in the Houston area, to highlight/expand the efforts of the DNV movement and to help create a nonviolent world.

Event Description:

A major march and demonstration so Houston can participate in the national mobilization against the U.S. war on, and occupation of, Iraq. It's being organized by the Houston September 24 Coalition, which to date includes the International Socialist Organization, Latinos Por La Paz, Pax Christi, Peace Action, Progressive Action Alliance, Progressive Workers Organizing Committee, and the Peace with Justice Ministry of the United Methodist Church Texas Conference.
