Mountain Top Removal coal mining is a radical form of strip mining.  “Appalachian Treasures” is a stunning multi-media presentation about mountaintop removal coal mining, with stories from the coalfields and music from the area.  Also, meet and talk with 2 Appalachian coalfield residents, Mary Miller and Pauline Canterberry, who will speak about daily life in the shadow of MTR mines.   Free and open to the public (Donations to Appalachian Treasures happily accepted).  Seating is limited, please rsvp to Irv at escramble('hirv','aol.com.');

The Harris County Green Party is having a celebration Sunday evening,
and this invitation is to you and any others who support the Green
Party values:

* Grassroots Democracy
* Healthy Environment
* Sustainable Energy
* Social Justice
* Non-Violence

Please note that progressive Democrats, who support those values, are
invited.  If you are one of them, you can help with the petition
drive, even though you can't sign the petition yourself if you voted
in the primary.  I'm one of those Dems, I support the GP values, and
I've already been helping to gather signatures. -- Bill C.

Anyone who comes to Dan Electro's this Sunday with their voter
registration card will get in for half-price ($5.)

Anyone who brings a sheet of signatures will get in for free!

There will be notaries there to notarize petitions.

There will be a raffle for $50 - one ticket for each sheet of
petition signatures!
