Event Description:

After the Alberto Gonzales hearing the front page of the Washington Post announced: “The Senate Judiciary Committee goes CODEPINK on Gonzales”! Going CODEPINK now means exposing the wrongdoings of the powerful, giving them a public dressing down, holding them accountable. This summer CODEPINK will continue to bust through our nation’s inside-the-beltway politics with a refreshing dash of people power. Come join us on “The Hill” and help us paint the town PINK!

Event Description:

1-7 p.m. sunday, july 29, 2007 Sedition Books will host a Food/Book drive to benefit Houston Food Not Bombs and the Inside Books Project. Food Not Bombs feeds the hungry every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8:00pm, and Sunday at 7:00pm in front of the Downtown Library (Smith @ Mckinney). http://www.fnbhouston.org The Inside Books Project sends books to Texas prisoners. Based out of Austin, they sent out over 18,000 books last year, and hope to augment that number with your help. The project is totally independent of the "correctional system", and needs books, volunteers, and donations. http://www.insidebooksproject.org Sedition Collective Members will be hanging out from 1pm to 7pm. Please stop by with non-perishable vegan food and books. Feel free to browse our library and merchendise as well! (if you have something that is perishable - i.e. fresh fruit, veggies, a prepared dish - just bring it by anyway and we'll try to bring it to Food Not Bombs that evening).
